Gluten free chocolate cakes
There’s nothing better than chocolate for a sweet treat, and these gluten free chocolate cakes were absolutely delicious! We took inspiration from My Gluten Free Guide, and found this was a very popular pudding for our residents.
Sometimes, as we get older we can become more sensitive to gluten, as digestive health often changes with age. These cakes are a great way to have a fun treat whilst being kind to our digestive system!
Here’s how to make them:
Ingredients (for 4 portions)
- 110 grams of dark chocolate
- 80 grams of salted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 100 grams of caster sugar
- 40 grams of plain, gluten free flour
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Microwave the chocolate and butter together. Add small pieces of chocolate and butter to a bowl and microwave in short blasts until you get a smooth, glossy mixture.
- Carefully whisk in the eggs and sugar to the mixture until combined.
- Add the flour, again stirring until combined.
- Divide the mixture across four ramekins, then place into the oven and bake for 17 minutes.
- Take out the oven and eat while hot! The inside of the cakes will have a chocolate lava centre, with a brownie-like outside.
And if you’re looking for the main meal, why not try our mediterranean roasted chicken breasts?
